This is because you tend to breathe better when you sleep on your side or your stomach. If you snore while sleeping on your back try to change the way you sleep and this might help you to stop snoring. You can also try to change your pillow because at most times it is the pillow that would put a lot of wrong pressure on your neck and this makes you snore.

Another leading reason why people snore is because of blocked nasal passages. If you have a bad cold it means that you will snore and although this is something that is temporary it will stop the minute your nasal passages are cleared out.
